Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Orchards Infrastructure (“TornadoBuddy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit www.tornadobuddy.xyz (the “Site”). TornadoBuddy is a free educational website about tornadoes, severe weather safety, storm science, radar and tracker resources, and weather cameras for learners of all ages, families, parents, and teachers.

1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy

We believe in data minimization. We do not ask for, store, or sell names, emails, or account information. There are no accounts, logins, newsletters, contact forms, or profiles on TornadoBuddy. We do use limited analytics (described below) so we can understand how the Site is used and keep improving it for families and teachers.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

On TornadoBuddy, we do not collect:

Our weather camera map shows public camera feeds only. It does not track where you are or record who is viewing the map. Games and tools on the Site (such as the memory match and fact generator) run in your browser and do not send your activity or scores to our servers.

3. Children & Families

TornadoBuddy is built for general family and educational use, including children under 13. We do not knowingly collect names, emails, or other contact information from children. Everyone gets the same experience: no accounts, and the same analytics described in this policy. Parents and teachers should still supervise internet use and any purchases made through outbound links.

If you believe personal information was somehow sent to us, contact Orchards@tutamail.com and we will delete it promptly.

4. Hosting, Security & Analytics

The Site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like most websites, Cloudflare may process limited technical data needed to deliver the Site securely — for example, browser type, device category, general region, and pages viewed. We may also use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregated, privacy-focused traffic measurement.

We use Google Analytics (gtag.js measurement ID G-D7QK7GVJKJ) to understand site traffic and which pages are popular. Google Analytics may collect technical information such as approximate location (city/region), device and browser type, referring site, and pages viewed. It may set cookies or use similar technologies to distinguish visits. We do not use Google Analytics to collect names or email addresses, and we do not sell this data.

5. Third-Party Links & Affiliate Partners

TornadoBuddy links to external websites — including radar tools, weather services, map providers, videos, and retailers — to support free educational content. We participate in affiliate programs such as the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and may include links from other partner networks (for example, ShareASale or Impact.com).

When you leave our Site and click an external or affiliate link, that third party may use its own cookies or tracking technologies (for example, to attribute a qualifying purchase). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

6. Cookies

TornadoBuddy does not set its own cookies to identify you. Third-party services may set cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies — including Google Analytics, Cloudflare for hosting and analytics, and affiliate retailers after you click an outbound link. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings.

7. Your Privacy Rights

We do not maintain accounts or contact databases for Site visitors. If you live in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, California, or another region with privacy rights, you may contact us with questions or requests related to any data processed by our service providers (including Google Analytics and Cloudflare). We do not sell personal information.

8. International Users, Security & Changes

TornadoBuddy is operated from Alberta, Canada. If you access the Site from elsewhere, limited technical data may be processed in Canada, the United States, or other countries where Cloudflare and Google operate. We use reasonable safeguards for a small static educational site, but no internet transmission is 100% secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
